The journey of Life of Gini began when I, Virginia Scheele, found myself navigating the world as a single professional tied to vacations outside school holidays. This often meant travelling alone, a daunting prospect at first, but one that quickly turned into a deep-seated passion. Solo travel opened my eyes to the freedom of choosing my own path, the peace of letting my thoughts wander and the opportunity to truly get to know myself.
During these solo adventures, I discovered the true value of local experiences and quality travel. Moments like enjoying street food at a local market, participating in a village festival, or learning artisanal skills from locals made my travels unforgettable. These experiences brought me closer to the culture and people of each destination and highlighted the importance of responsible and respectful travel.
However, I also witnessed the dark side of tourism. Some beautiful places I visited were struggling under the pressure of mass tourism. This realization struck a chord with me. I could no longer ignore the damage caused by thoughtless travel to both nature and local communities. It became clear that, as a traveller, I had a responsibility to contribute to a more fair and sustainable world.

My name is Virginia Scheele born and raised in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen with Surinamese, Dutch and Indian roots. I now reside on a farm in Soest with my dog, cat and one and a half horses (one big and one small). I am a passionate traveller who also loves spending time at home painting, dancing and enjoying life.
I began my career in Life Sciences, eventually became an entrepreneur with a focus on social impact. In 2023, I started several educations to prepare for Life of Gini, including a Travel Consultant program at TAT Opleidingen and a Master of Business Administration in International Tourism & Hospitality Management at BEBS.
Life of Gini was born from a personal need and a gap in the market. Currently, it is a one-woman show, but I plan to expand as soon as possible. We strive to create a travel revolution, offering conscious, inclusive and sustainable travel experiences.
